Do you ever get an impulse to deep clean your entire house at 6pm on a Monday? Because that just happened. Mostly on the main floor. No dog hair will be left unswept. Also, if anyone ever tells you that cockapoos don’t shed, that person is lying to you. I could clone my dog with the hair I swept off this kitchen floor. It’s a good thing she’s wonderful, because I am 100% over her shedding. Also if you look closely, you’ll see bananas that are about two hours from their fate of becoming banana bread. 🍌

If you watch my stories, you saw that I was testing out contact paper on the wall of my bathroom. I asked if anyone had experience with contact paper on BATHROOM walls (and steam from the shower). A reader responded and said, “DON’T DO IT!!!” (which was enough to make me run upstairs and take down the square I used.) She said it bubbled and peeled off and kind of damaged her walls after a while. My husband also brought up the possibility of mold. 🤷🏼‍♀️ So the experiment is officially over. I guess if contact paper on walls were really a good idea, no one would ever use real wallpaper. I decided to use the scraps instead of just throwing them away, so I gave a few pieces some fun, floral updates! First was my top vanity drawer, where we keep our toothbrushes and my skincare supplies. Next was the old bathroom scale I picked up for $1 at a yard sale. I still had some paper left over, so I covered the top of a tiny wood table in our guest room! Ben’s brother just arrived to stay with us for a few days, so I put some of my favorite chocolate on a little tray for him. (And there’s our WiFi password if you’re ever in Alta, Iowa. I’ll let you guess who picked the password 😉).

One day I will finish painting this porch. Today is not that day. But the 70% that I have painted makes a HUGE difference! When I finish painting the walls, the speckled concrete floors might get some paint, too! Until then, this is still one of my favorite spots to spend an afternoon. ☀️ Happy Sunday, everyone!
