Well, we did it. We spent one whole week completely transforming Briee’s kitchen with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and the result is incredible.

Hi, friends! I am so thrilled about the project I get to share with you today. In case you missed my last post, allow me to give you a recap of my latest project:
“My friend, Briee, just bought her first home! Briee’s husband, Ryan, is the pastor of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in our town. They have become our best friends over the four years we’ve all lived in Alta. Ryan and Briee recently accepted a call to serve in a church in Carroll, Iowa, about an hour away from where we all live now. Briee’s new home is a gorgeous Craftsman style house that is similar to my home in a lot of ways (except one). The kitchen is kind of new. The previous owners remodeled the kitchen within the last five years. It has nice cabinets, a stone backsplash, and granite counters. The only problem? It is dark, which is not Briee’s dream. We are spending one week making over Briee’s kitchen with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and I can’t wait to share the whole process with you!”
Here’s a reminder of what the kitchen looked like before (one week ago if you can believe it!)
Before
And after a week of hard work, a bunch of chalk paint, some grout, and new DIY basket light pendants, Briee has a dream kitchen.
After
Can you even believe that this is the same space? Obviously it still has the same layout and appliances, but the style transformation is crazy!
Ready for a close-up?
We made these light fixtures with planters from Hobby Lobby! This allowed us to keep the existing fixture and simply swap out the dated shades for something one-of-a-kind and budget friendly. I’ll write about the process in a post later!
There is a darling powder bathroom just off of the kitchen. It has beautiful tile and beadboard. Briee wants to install fun wallpaper above the beadboard down the road!
Briee is so happy with her new kitchen, and it is ready for her to move in today! We had a blast spending the week together, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to help Briee have a kitchen she adores.
Stay tuned this week for more posts about how we completed this makeover, how to make your own DIY basket lights, the budget breakdown, and more!
